Episode 37: The ABC's of OBA

Summer's almost here and that means rockets' red glare and bombs bursting in air. It's the perfect time to start our summer study of Offboard Artillery, aka OBA. Fasten your seat belts for a heck of a ride as we blast off for the FFE blast area. Normally hats are not allowed in class, but for this you might want to wear your helmet!

We also take a look at Le Franc Tireur's From the Cellar 3, and MMP's A Decade of War. Then proceed to a review of Over the Battlefield: Operation Bluecoat followed by more high culture with a Box Art Review of Kampfguppe Peiper I & II. INCOMING!!!

    Hey Guys, Great work. Loved the last pair of episodes. Add to your considerations book list Guy Sajer "The Forgotten Solider", an interesting bottom up perspective of WWII. Keep up the great episodes.

    Great episode, guys. One correction: the Op BLUECOAT paperback is a DIFFERENT book from the Over the Battlefield. Only about half as long. Before the OtB project, I established myself with Pen & Sword by giving them two in the 'Battleground Europe' series of battle guides. So, the paperback BLUECOAT and GOODWOOD are very different from the 'OtB' hardbacks. In both cases, the hardback is about twice as long with a lot more detail. Apologies for the understandable confusion.

    jrregan has it right. Guy Sajer's book is not only a classic but an "oft quoted" memoir. The best bottom up hands down. Better than Donald Burgett's whole series put together in my vote. Keep up the good work guys.
